Jacket Fatigue – Spectral/Time Domain Analysis

SCOPE OF WORK

The scope of work includes the following tasks:

  • State of the art about fatigue analysis methodology
  • Spectral analysis
  • Time domain analysis & comparison

State of the art
Analysis of existing methodology.

Spectral analysis
For one typical jacket structure, a ISYMOST/NSO model from existing jacket will be updated to estimate fatigue life, based on classical methodology (spectral analysis).

Time domain analysis
The same structure will be converted into a DEEPLINES model (software developed by PRINCIPIA). It will enable to:

  • Check that both models are compliant ;
  • Test new Deeplines features for analysis of tubular structures. The intern will be also in contact with software development team to provide feedback/potential improvement ;
  • Perform fatigue with more advanced method (dynamic, time domain non-linear…) ;
  • Compare results with classical approach and determine potential improvement.
